Harbhajan Singh Raises Concerns About Pitches in New York

India legend Harbhajan Singh questions the use of drop-in pitches for the Indo-Pak clash!

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is set to host the most anticipated match of the upcoming World Cup on June 9th. Cricket fever is gripping the city with a total of eight World Cup matches scheduled to be played there, including the high-voltage India-Pakistan clash.

Excitement is building as ten pitches have already arrived in New York and their installation began earlier this month. However, legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has thrown a curveball into the mix, expressing concerns about the unknown nature of these pitches.

"Honestly, no one, not even the pitch curators, have any idea how these pitches are going to behave," Harbhajan remarked during a press conference organized by Star Sports. He emphasized the importance of warm-up matches for teams to get a feel for the pitches, questioning factors like how long they'll last, how much bounce they'll offer, and the impact of weather conditions.

"We don't know how much heat they've been exposed to; how much water has been used in their preparation," he continued, highlighting the uncertainties surrounding the pitches.

Harbhajan's comments raise an interesting point as teams prepare to take center stage in New York. Whether the pitches will be batting paradises or favor the bowlers remains to be seen.
