match against Ireland, Pakistan's pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi inscribed his name in cricketing history by reaching the prestigious milestone of 300 wickets
in international cricket. Afridi, the left-arm quick, now stands as only the
seventh Pakistani pacer and the second left-armer to achieve this remarkable
feat.
Afridi's achievement came during the 4th over of the match when he dismissed Paul Stirling, claiming his 300th wicket. This milestone was reached in just 145 international matches, underscoring his exceptional talent and rapid ascent in the cricketing world.
Joining an elite group of
Pakistani fast bowlers who have surpassed the 300-wicket mark, Afridi now
stands alongside legends such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Imran Khan. The
all-time leading wicket-taker, Wasim Akram, heads the list with an impressive
916 wickets, followed by Waqar Younis with 789 wickets and Imran Khan with 544
wickets. Other notable names include Shoaib Akhtar (444), Umar Gul (427), and
Abdul Razzaq (389).
