Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs! Though their match against Gujarat Titans (GT) got rained out, the single point they earned was enough to guarantee a top-four finish in the league stage. With 15 points and one remaining game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 19th, this is their first playoff appearance since 2020.
However, their dream of grabbing a top-two spot is slightly dented. While still achievable, it now depends on other results. SRH needs to win their final match and hope Rajasthan Royals (RR), currently with 16 points, lose their last game against the league leaders Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
For Gujarat Titans, the season ended on a disappointing note. Both their last matches, against KKR and SRH, were washed out without a ball bowled. They finish with 12 points, currently sitting third from bottom, but could potentially drop one more place if PBKS defeats SRH.
